HUES Women’s Health Advocacy Institute welcomes new Board Chair, LeKeisha Grant
HUES Women’s Health Advocacy Institute is proud to announce the appointment of LeKeisha Grant as the new Chair of its Board of Directors. A celebrated innovator, entrepreneur, and dedicated health advocate, Grant brings over a decade of strategic leadership and a deeply personal commitment to health equity to the organization.
As the current Innovation Manager at the Entrepreneurs' Center in Dayton, Grant has spent her career guiding aspiring business owners through the complexities of commercialization and growth. However, it is her intersection of professional prowess and personal resilience that makes her an ideal leader for HUES.
A Leader Rooted in Advocacy
Grant’s passion for healthcare advocacy is not just professional; it is personal. Following a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis in 2012 and a recent victory as a breast cancer survivor, she has become a vocal champion for navigating complex health systems. She has served as a Board Member for the Ohio Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society since 2016, where she currently serves as the Community Engagement Ohio Valley Chair.
"LeKeisha’s unique blend of strategic business acumen and lived experience as a survivor makes her the perfect voice to lead our board,” said Executive Director, Dr. Nicole Carter. "Her ability to navigate hurdles—whether in business or healthcare—aligns perfectly with our mission to advocate for women’s health equity."
Strategic Vision and Experience
Beyond her advocacy, Grant is a powerhouse in the Dayton business community. She founded Ambition LTD in 2012, a consultancy focused on strategy and productivity, and spent over a decade as the Editor-in-Chief of Ambition Magazine. Her work has been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named to the Dayton Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” class in 2021 and receiving the Notable Alumni Award from Ohio University in 2019.
Her academic background is equally impressive, holding a Master’s in Technology Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor’s in African American Studies and Political Science from Ohio University. She also shapes the next generation of leaders as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Dayton, teaching Venture Creation.
Looking Forward
In her new role as Board Chair, Grant will leverage her expertise in strategic planning and community outreach to further the Institute's mission. Her experience in curriculum development and project management will be vital as HUES continues to expand its educational programs and advocacy initiatives.
Please join us in welcoming LeKeisha Grant to this pivotal role. We look forward to the innovative vision and compassionate leadership she will bring to HUES Women’s Health Advocacy Institute.
